n its surroundings rise the “Tacco di Texile” a rock of limestone of dolomitic type that has
been formed in Mesozoic Age, approximately 150 million years ago, like all the other heels and characteristic of this zone. When the sea has receded leaving large sediments of limestone that then were raised, took shape these characteristic natural monuments.
It is found over a hill, 4 km. south-west of Aritzo, has an unmistakable shape, similar to an
enormous fungus, high 975 m. and all around is encircled from a dense vegetation.
